Farmer Notes
*Our garlic turned out big and beautiful this year
*We have great beets this year also – you will receive more of them in box #5
*Our greens mix comes from the hoop house and from the field
*Kale is from new fall-planted starts – they should be young, fresh and nutritious
*Scallions will come again next week
*Small pie pumpkins are bred to make pumpkin pies
*Some squashes have scaly spots or superficial blemishes on their exterior but they are nothing to worry about. Can’t let them go to waste just because they don’t look perfect – we hope you enjoy them!
*Carrots, garlic, potatoes, and beets are delicious diced or sliced, and roasted
*Cauliflower did not make this box, but more delicious broccoli did
*Enjoy this box and share it with your Thanksgiving friends!
*Please return our boxes each week for reuse
We have a ton to be grateful for this year at Earth Dance Farm: decent weather (especially in the fall), wonderful crops, exceptional workers, and outstanding members to share all the bounty with. Two of our interns return home this week so we are left with Joshua, Vanessa and myself to finish off the season. We will do so in style and continue to deliver great produce to you and your family through mid March. Don’t forget to sign up for our Winter Share if you have not yet done so.
We wish you a warm and festive Thanksgiving!
