Farmer notes:
- cthis is by far the driest May/June in my 20 years of farming – we have gotten just shy of 1/2″ since May 14th
- cour crops in the field look surprising good at this point, but we cannot irrigate our entire fields per need indefinitely
- cthis season look for a bit less variety than other years and with certain crops being smaller in size
- clook for summer squash, zucchini, scallions, parsley and brassicas soon in your boxes
- cscapes are the bloom of the garlic and can be used like a scallion sauteed in about anything
- cmint is wonderful to flavor your water/mixed drink, in a salad, or to flavor a dressing
- cdry beans are last year’s crop and are kidney or pinto
- cyou can always perk up your greens by soaking them in very cold water
- cwash your crops before you eat them and please return our boxes and ice packs each week
- cenjoy your fresh produce and have a safe and fun 4th holiday
