“Let us fill our hearts with our own compassion – towards ourselves and towards all living beings.”
~ Thich Nhat Hanh
Crop list:
- Asparagus
- Napa cabbage
- Kale
- Swiss chard
- Sage
- Romaine lettuce
- Honey
- Collard greens – full shares only
Farmer notes:
- Welcome to our 1st summer share box for the 2025 season – thanks so much for joining us
- This is NOT a bi-eweekly Flex share week
- Do not take eggs unless you have a purchased Egg Share
- The early boxes are usually heavy on the spring greens for salads and saute
- Kale can be drizzled with oil and gently massaged by hand before dressing it – then it can sit and rest for a couple hours before you enjoy it in a softer, more palatable condition
- Swiss chard and collards are highly nutritious and are usually deveined and cut up and sauteed with onion and garlic that can be a tasty side or incorporated into any egg, pasta or rice dish
- Sage can be dried for tea or later use or made into a sage butter. It also works well into most meat and Italian dishes
- Napa leaves are a great wrap for other veggies or seasoned rice/meat
- Please return our ice packs and boxes (and washed honey bears) each week for reuse
- Wash all produce before you eat it
Have a great weekend!!
