Week 17 produce list

  • Romaine – all

Farmer notes

  • FALL HARVEST PARTY is next Saturday Oct. 21st beginning at 2. Please rsvp is you are able to, but is not mandatory.  See our website for directions as Cty Rd. 1 is under construction.
  • Read about the Fall Share details in our farm article
  • We have tons of beautiful winter squashes – let us know if you want to purchase any additional, or any possibility to market these
  • Dill with the potatoes is a great match
  • Rosemary works great with baked carrots, garlic and beets
  • Still salad time with the braising, romaine and spinach – next week is more braising along with arugula. Kohlrabi, beets and carrots also go well on salads.
  • We have had 3.5 inches of rain in the past week
  • We are beginning to clean up some of the fields (remove trellis, drip line, plastic mulch, row cover) and trying to prepare for garlic planting
  • Next Th., Oct. 19th is the final Summer Share box
  • Please return all of our boxes and ice packs
  • Wash all of the food before you eat it

Fall Share 2017

Participating in our Fall Share program is a wonderful way to continue to eat well right up through the holidays.  We offer over 35 different varieties of root and storage vegetables, hardy greens, brassicas, herbs and also crops like popcorn, a carving pumpkin and a pie pumpkin, and honey!  The deliveries are every other week and most of the crops are easy to store for weeks or even months.  If you have not yet signed up, we would love for you to join us for the Autumn season!

The delivery dates are:

Th. November 9th

Tues. Nov. 21st

Price is $150 or $50 per box (feel free to sign up for one, two, or all three boxes)

Here are some of the crops that we will be delivering:

ROOT VEGETABLES – potatoes, beets, rutabaga, carrots, turnips, radishes, parsnips

STORAGE CROPS – squash (butternut, acorn, delicata, sweet dumpling), pie pumpkin, onions, garlic, dry beans, popcorn, leeks

HARDY GREENS – spinach, braising mix, arugula, kale, swiss chard, lettuce, collard greens, scallions

BRASSICAS – broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, napa cabbage, brussel sprouts

HERBS – rosemary, sage, thyme, savory, oregano, marjoram, parsley

ALSO – honey, carving pumpkin
